Getting My Family Back On Track

Dear Friend,

I was a mother of 2 and 7 months pregnant when my husband lost his job. Two weeks after our 3rd child was born, I headed back to my job as a teaching assistant.

Supporting a family of 5 on my salary was incredibly difficult and stressful, and my husband couldn't look for a job because he was our sole source of childcare. Money and space were tight--we couldn't afford winter clothes, our baby slept in a bouncy chair.

I reached out to the Educational Alliance for help, and that's when things began to get better. The agency helped us get funds to buy winter clothes and a crib.

We also learned about the Educational Alliance's Early Head Start program and enrolled our 2 youngest children in it.The program didn't just provide our children with early education; it gave our entire family support and my husband the time to find and get a new job. Our children go to the Educational Alliance every day of the week, and because of that, my husband goes to his new job everyday too.

Your support helps families like ours

Seeing my children learn every day at the Educational Alliance reminds me how fortunate my family is to be involved with the agency. There are lots of ways to support early childhood programs at the Educational Alliance--learn how you can help the agency enhance early education.

Thank you,

Amy
