From the Prez
This is a short newsletter, with entries devoted to volunteers and fundraising, and a few brief announcements.
Meetings. The next general meeting is Feb. 16 at 7:30 AM in the CVHS theater. The program is parent to parent, tips and advice for navigating high school and college. Please note the morning time. We are trying this morning time in response to requests.
Fundraising. We continue to raise money for the PTO. This continue to work towards support the students, teachers, and school. Please consider a donation. The list of 2016 donors can now be found on our website.
Communications. We will not be issuing a printed directory because we have not had any ad purchases. The directory has been and continues to be available online. The website has been updated and more of the pages are mobile friendly.
Volunteers. We have a new sign up reminder for Teacher Appreciation and continue to ask for volunteers for Food Sales.
Party with the PTO. Many thanks to all who booked their tickets for the Wine and Dine by the deadline yesterday. This event is kindly hosted by Mark and Alison Levine and they do need advance notice to plan the amounts of wine and food. For those of you attending Saturday, I look forward to seeing you.
Please read on below for more details.

Saying thanks
The CVHS faculty and staff are world-class and one of the ways to tells them how much we appreciate their commitment is to provide lunch once a month and giving gift cards at National Teachers Appreciation Day. The PTO will provide the main dish and parents will provide desserts and fruit/fruit salad.

Friends & Family Campaign
The PTO continues to raise money to make the Pavilion (pictured above) a reality. The Pavilion will provide all students a wonderful, shady place for lunch, something they are in need of. It will also be used for educational activities and theater. Our target is $25,000 to complete the $100,000 funding needed for the Pavilion. The PTO has already raised the remaining funds through past gifts to the Friends & Family Campaign.
Donations may be made online, by clicking here, or by check made out to "CVHS PTO". Our giving levels are listed online, but the PTO welcomes any donations of any amount!

Food Sales Volunteers Needed
If you would like to help with food sales this semester, there are a few openings on several shifts. The shifts are every first Tuesday, second Friday and third Friday of the month. This is a fun way to get involved at Carnegie by selling Chick-fil-A sandwiches, Vietnamese food and pizza slices at lunch time. To volunteer, follow the SignUp Genius link here. Please email Mary Beth Yard at mary.yard@att.net if you have any questions. Thanks so much!
