Expanding Rhino family

Ms. Moumni wants to remind all prospective parents who already have a child in CVHS to make sure you have completed the sibling portion of the online application.
If not, please contact her as soon as possible at lmoumni@houstonisd.org.

Yearbook ordering time!

The 2016-2017 yearbook is on sale. There is no better way to capture and preserve the year's events and experiences than with the yearbook.

The yearbook costs $70 and can be ordered at balfour.com,  at schoolpay.com, or by check made out to Carnegie Vanguard High School and delivered to Ms. Paget in the library.

Please consider buying an ad for your business or student. Ads can be created online at balfour.com, or can be created with the assistance of the yearbook staff.  Please submit your ad by mid-January so that you can have adequate time to review the finished product.

For more information, e-mail her at APAGET@houstonisd.org.

PSAT scores are in

In case you didn't see the message from Ms. Chapman, PSAT scores are now available online in your student's College Board account.  If they already have an account, they need to log in to get their scores.  If they don't have an account, Ms. Chapman asks to please create one.  For more information, call the College Board at 866-756-7346.  The counselors or staff at CVHS cannot assist with this. You will need to call the College Board.

To access the PSAT scores, click here.

When reviewing which charities need your support most, we'd like you to consider a cause very close to your home and your heart, your schools' PTO.
Every $$ donated to CVHS PTO is used to help the students and their families, the teachers and the school

The vast majority of our PTO funding comes through generous contributions to the Friends & Family Campaign. Without this money, we cannot complete all our good work. We have not reached our goals for the year, and so we ask that parents consider this worthy, charitable (tax deductible) gift.

We want all parents to have complete knowledge of what we do with the money we collect.  Most of our spending goes to these terrific causes:
  • Teacher Appreciation, Development and Support: $17,000
  • Campus Beautification and Maintenance $3,000
  • Events, Honoraria and School Clubs $6,000
  • Scholarships $2,500
We hope to collect more than our budgetary needs so that we can make the Pavilion (pictured above) a reality. The Pavilion will provide all students a wonderful place for lunch, gathering, and educational activities. We continue to raise money towards our target of an additional $25,000 to complete the $100,000 funding needed for the Pavilion. The PTO has raised the remaining funds through past gifts to the Friends & Family Campaign.

Donations may be made online, by clicking here, or by check made out to "CVHS PTO". Our giving levels are listed online, but the PTO welcomes any donations of any amount!

Please contact Mark J. Levine, First Vice President - Fund Raising at mlevine@wkpz.com or me, Sarah Bittner, President, at president@cvhspto.org if you have any questions.
