The current character of Portland's neighborhoods is very much tied to our abundant trees, which provide us numerous benefits including cleaner water, healthier air, reduced erosion, and wildlife habitat. Because of all the importance of trees to Portland's communities, the city regulates some of the things that we do to them.

As a board member of the Richmond neighborhood, Heather recently established the Division Design Initiative. She hopes to help neighbors proactively deal with current and future changes along the Division Corridor. She is passionate about creating neighborhoods that are reflective of their history and character, while also paying attention to the goals of the community.

JUNE BOARD MEETING

At this month's SE Uplift Board meeting we will be get an update on the demolition issue, meet the Chair of the City's Development Review Advisory Committee, hear a request from the Sunnyside neighborhood to support smaller infill design strategies, discuss board member job descriptions, and more! SE Uplift board meetings are open to the public and interested community members are welcome to attend.
