RECLAIMING THE RIGHT-OF-WAY
Street Seats As Public Space

Portland's Street Seats program allows organizations to convert on-street parking into other public uses, including mini-parks. For the current round of proposals (due by March 1st) the city will prioritize designs that are open to full public use. For neighborhoods interested in creating much needed open space and fostering community participation, this could prove to be the perfect opportunity.
