Ousmane and Ed are Homesharers in northeast Baltimore. Ed's been a St. Ambrose Homesharer since 2011, and Ousmane was able to find his perfect match in Ed's Mayfield home earlier this year.
For Ousmane, who lost his sight 4 years ago, Homesharing is an experience in the "School of Life" and a way to live self-sufficiently, while in community with others. Read Ed and Ousmane's story on the blog>>
St. Ambrose is celebrating NeighborWorks Week 2016 with a neighborhood festival in Winters Lane! It's a celebration of our upcoming revitalization project as well as a nod to the community's rich and inspiring history. We couldn't think of a neighborhood that better embodies the NeighborWorks Week
theme of "Creating Opportunity."
Welcome to the team!
Charlotte Clarke is a recent graduate from University of Baltimore School of Law and our newest Legal Services staff member. Charlotte was first introduced to St. Ambrose through a summer internship with Network 2000. Before her internship she had wanted to become a public defender, but her experience at St. Ambrose solidified her interest in the field of civil legal services. Charlotte was surprised by the volume of cases coming from right in our neighborhood. "There's a great need in this field because there aren't the same constitutional protections" for those facing civil legal issues.
Charlotte is looking forward to learning from Owen Jarvis (Director of Legal Services) and Christina Ochoa (staff attorney) and eventually getting the opportunity to represent our clients in court!
The mission of St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center is to create, preserve and maintain equal housing opportunities for low and moderate income people, primarily in Baltimore City, and to encourage and support strong and diverse neighborhoods.
