Greetings!

It's been a busy month at St. Ambrose.  As we opened our Legal Clinic and celebrated Orioles Opening Day,  here are some of the other things that are happening.

National Fair Housing Alliance Award Helps Homeowners' Dreams Come True
Through a $100,000 grant to help with closing costs, National Fair Housing Alliance has helped prospective homeowners like Helen King not only find a new home but also, a new career.

(little known fact: St. Ambrose installs red front doors on all its homes)
Family Donates House to St. Ambrose
After a bachelor uncle died and left his house to Sharon McIntire, she wasn't sure what to do. No one in the family needed a home.

McIntire ended up donating the house to St. Ambrose, where it is currently being renovated for a new owner.

Baseball History Happened Here
Long before St. Ambrose moved into the houses on the 300 block of East 25th Street, the land was home to a baseball field for the National League Baltimore Orioles.

On Opening Day, March 31, baseball author/historian David Stinson joined staff and donors to celebrate our neighborhood's history and the recent renovations to the buildings, which included the restoration of the wrought-iron gate that was once the entrance to the snack bar at Union Park.
