Your Bank Changed the Locks
What do you do?
Chained House
Consumer laws are complex and confusing. The average person doesn't know their rights and this can have serious consequences. As a St. Ambrose client recently discovered:

Unemployment had caused her to be delinquent on her mortgage and her electricity was turned-off. Her church was helping get the electricity back on and she was staying with friends when the bank, in-error, determined the property was vacant and changed the locks.

Her attempts to reason with the bank's management firm turned hostile and futile. Threatened and afraid for her possessions,
she called St. Ambrose. One of our attorneys helped get back her keys and she can return home.

Inspiring Gifts from People Like You
Homeownership Workshop
Each month, dozens of first-time home buyers fill the seats of our free workshop.
The most generous, heartfelt gifts don't come from people with "big" names; they come from you, our neighbors, staff, and clients.  Every dollar and every person makes a difference.

A grateful new home owner recently made a gift to support Homeownership Counseling. Inspired by our staff and the confidence gained through the program, she hopes others will be able to achieve their dream of owning a home.

Another donor, who is a long-time resident in our Rental Services program, makes a recurring monthly donation to St. Ambrose.  Each month, along with her rent, she includes a few extra dollars as a donation.  She's proudly helping to give others access to a safe affordable home like hers.

Become part of this giving community by making a secure donation today.

Abell Logo
Our offices on 25th Street have changed little since moving-in in the 1970's.  To better serve you and our clients, St. Ambrose has initiated a capital improvement campaign to update our reception areas and the main classroom and conference room where homeownership workshops and other activities are held.

This is a big undertaking and we are very excited by the support we have received.  The Neighborhood Design Center first helped the improvement effort with in-kind architecture and design services this past summer.  The Abell Foundation has now committed its support.

Stay tuned for updates!
