 | Triathlon Cycling - Jan class begins this Thursday

This class will focus on specific cycling skill sets needed for optimal performance in the bike leg of Sprint and International distance triathlons. These include fixed interval sets, ladders, superspins, standing sprints, tempo sets, one-leg spinning drills, and recovery. Minimum 6.
Please note: due to changes in RecPlex class structures, there are no drop-ins for this class. All participants, member and non-member, must preregister.
Thursdays, 7-8pm
Jan 2-30, Feb 6-27, & March 6-27

 | Cycle, Run, Repeat - Jan class begins this Sunday

A multiple Brick workout
Aerobic and anaerobic cycling workout + run intervals. For triathletes, this brick workout modification will help improve the anerobic and muscular endurance you need for racing. Minimum 6 participants.
Please note: due to changes in RecPlex class structures, there are no drop-ins for this class. All participants, member and non-member, must preregister.
Sundays, 8:30-10:00am

Work 1-on-1 with Coach Ken (or another RecPlex personal trainer)
$75 for three, one-hour sessions.
Available to RecPlex members only, and you must sign up at the RecPlex on January 1st, 9am to 2pm only!

 | Half Iron / 70.3 Training

Prepare for the Ironman 70.3 Racine Triathlon or the Door County Half Iron Triathlon in July
Even if you don't plan to do a Half Iron / 70.3 race, training for one will get you in great shape for your other races this year!
The Half Iron / 70.3 training class will include the Wisconsin Half Marathon training class and the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon training class - you do not have to sign up for those separately.
Class Sessions:
- Saturday, Jan 25, 7-9am - Information Session & Training Plan Review (registered participants only will receive a training plan)
- Saturdays, Feb 1 through April 26, 7-9am (with Wisconsin Half Marathon class)
- Sundays, May 4 through June 15, 7-9am (with Pleasant Prairie Triathlon class)
- Saturdays, June 28 through July 12 (will include some Saturday Lake Andrea swims as part of the class)
- NO classes on race weekends: May 3-4, June 21-22, July 19-20

 | Wisconsin Half Marathon Training

Train for the Wisconsin Half Marathon being held in Kenosha on May 3, 2014.
This training program is designed for those who have been running regularly and maybe have entered a few 5K or 10K races, and are ready to move up to the half marathon distance, OR those who have done at least one half marathon and want to improve their finish time.
The training plan utilizes a combination of long runs, easy endurance runs, drills, cross-training, rest days, and if appropriate, 800m intervals, hill runs, and time trials. Central to your success is the concept of walk breaks, pioneered by Jeff Galloway. Regardless of your current pace, incorporating the correct walk break schedule will help you run faster by conserving energy for later in the race.
Saturdays, 7:00-9:00am
Feb 1 thru April 26, 2014
Fee: $104 RecPlex member, $116 Non-member
Although most class sessions will meet at the RecPlex, at least two workouts will be done on part of the race course in Kenosha.

Train February through mid-September
Train all summer with RecPlex USA Triathlon coach Ken Johnson. Prepare for local races, or keep motivated to keep your training going through September. This class will provide training plans and workouts for (1) Wisconsin Half Marathon on May 3, (2) Pleasant Prairie Triathlon on June 22, (3) Ironman Racine 70.3 Triathlon on July 20, and (4) TriRock Lake Geneva Triathlon on September 13.
INCLUDES these training classes (no separate registration or fee):
- Wisconsin Half Marathon Training Class
- Pleasant Prairie Triathlon Training Class (Sprint or International distance)
- Ironman Racine 70.3 Training Class
- TriRock Lake Geneva Training Class
