Half Iron / 70.3 Triathlon Training Program

Training starts February 2!  

Even if you don't plan to do a Half Iron / 70.3 race, training for one will get you in great shape for your other races.


Racine 70.3 logo Join us at the RecPlex for a 5-month training program to prepare you for the Ironman 70.3 Racine Triathlon or the Door County Half Iron Triathlon on July 21. There will be an option for anyone planning on doing the Ironman 70.3 Steelhead Triathlon in Michigan on August 4. 


Door County Triathlon Logo The Half Iron / 70.3 training class will include the Wisconsin Half Marathon training class and the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon training class - you do not have to sign up for those separately. There will also be additional workouts scheduled based on participant availability for such things as long rides, Lake Michigan swim, etc.

 

Class Sessions:

  1. Saturdays, 7-9am, from February 2 through March 2.
  2. Saturdays, 7-9am, with the Wisconsin Half Marathon training class, from March 9 through April 27.
  3. Sundays, 7-9am, with the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon training class, from May 5 through June 16.
  4. No class on June 22-23 due to Pleasant Prairie Triathlons.
  5. Saturdays, 7-9am, from June 29 to July 13.
  6. Optional for those doing Steelhead, meet July 20 & 27. Please contact Coach Ken Johnson if you are planning on doing this race.

Registration fee: $294 RecPlex members, $385 non-members.

Included:

  • 24 week training plan. Weekly training hours range from 6 hrs for recovery weeks to a maximum of 11 hours.
  • Online training log at TrainingPeaks.com.
  • Weekly lectures and workouts.
  • Additional monthly workout opportunities.
  • E-mail consultation with USAT Coach.
