The 2012 Triathlon season begins now. We'll be offering the same popular training classes at the RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie, along with one of two new things along the way (can you say "Half Iron Training"?). Here's a look at our offerings through August....

 2013 Indoor Triathlon Season
Registration is now open for Jan to Apr races New for 2013 - RecPlex Member & Non-members pay the same registration fees.
Sunday, January 27 - 10 minute swim, 10 minute transition, 20 minute spin bike, 5 minute transition, 15 minute treadmill run

These workouts will prepare you for our Indoor Triathlons; each session will cover aspects of the Indoor Tri's swim, bike, run & transitions.  Tri Cycle
A spin class for triathletes, or those considering signing up for a triathlon in 2013. This class will focus on specific cycling skill sets needed for optimal performance in the bike leg of Sprint and International distance triathlons. These include fixed interval sets, ladders, superspins, standing sprints, tempo sets, one-leg spinning drills, and recovery. Drop-in available for individual sessions: $10 RecPlex member, $15 Non-member.

 Cycle, Run, Repeat
Aerobic & anaerobic cycling workout & run intervals. For triathletes, this brick workout modification will help improve the anaerobic & muscular endurance you need for racing.

 Half Iron / 70.3 Training Program
Training for the Ironman 70.3 Racine Triathlon and the Door County Half Iron Triathlon, both on July 21. Option to continue training to the Steelhead Triathlon on August 4.
 Training starts on February 2 Training will include Wisconsin Half Marathon Training class and Pleasant Prairie Triathlon Training class. - Feb 2 thru March 2, Half Iron class meets Saturdays, 7-9am.
- March 9 thru Apr 27, Half Iron class meets with Half Marathon class, Saturdays, 7-8:30am.
- May 5 thru June 16, Half Iron class meets with the Pleasant Prairie Tri class, Sundays, 7-9am.
- June 29 thru July 13, Half Iron class meets Saturdays, 7-9am. Includes Lake Swims on June 29 & July 13.
- Option for Steelhead participants - classes on Saturday, July 20 & Saturday, July 27.

 Wisconsin Half Marathon Training This training program is designed for those who have been running regularly and maybe have entered a few 5K or 10K races, and are ready to move up to the half marathon distance, OR those who have done at least one half marathon and want to improve their finish time. Saturdays, 7:00-8:30am March 9 thru April 27 Fee: $89/99 Although most class sessions will meet at the RecPlex, at least one workout will be done on part of the race course in Kenosha.  Pleasant Prairie Triathlon Training
Train Where You Race! This course will prepare new & experienced triathletes for the Pleasant Prairie Sprint & International Triathlon on Sunday June 23 at the RecPlex. Training plans will be available for novice triathletes, intermediate triathletes, and experienced triathletes for both the Spring and the International distances. A duathlon training plan is also available for anyone planning on that race.

We are again offering a Drop-in option for Pleasant Prairie triathlon workouts. Check the web page or RecPlex Online calendar for specific workout & workout location. TRI Training drop-in is $10 for RecPlex members, $15 for non-members. You must register at the Guest Services Desk at the RecPlex in advance and bring your receipt to the workout. You cannot sign up at the workout itself.

 Conquer the Open Water Workouts Prepare for the Pleasant Prairie and Danskin Triathlons Join us for open water swim training at Lake Andrea. Each session with include triathlon open water swim skills followed by a swim workout. Week 3 of the class will include an open water swim across Lake Andrea (approximately 1/2 mile).

 Lake Andrea Open Water Swims
New: same pricing advanced registration and drop-in Prepare for the summer Triathlons by swimming the course across Lake Andrea. All swims will have a USAT Triathlon Swim Coach & be supported in by lifeguards in kayaks. "Noodles" will be available from the lifeguards in the kayaks before and during the swim for those who need some additional help for the swim (noodles are allowed during the Danskin Triathlon).

Train Where You Race! This 8 week course will prepare you for Danskin Women's Triathlon held at the RecPlex on August 11. Even if you've never swam in a lake, rode a bike more than a few miles, or even ran a mile, we'll train your body and mind to complete the race with a smile on your face!
