FACILITATION TRAINING
| | |
Group meetings can be challenging due to the great diversity and competing needs (language, culture, ethnicity, age, gender) of those at the table. If you are in a situation where you work in a group - a community organization, neighborhood association, committee, volunteer team, school group, business meeting, etc. - then this training is for you.
In our fun and interactive training you will learn the skills and techniques to facilitate group discussions and decision making processes. Participants will leave with the tools to act as effective, successful facilitators.
This training is ideal for a wide variety of people, including board members and officers, human resource and staff development professionals, program managers, work team leaders, social workers and family therapists, and community organizers.
Training topics will include:
- Development of comprehensive and inclusive agendas
- Effective facilitation and intervention techniques
- Identifying and balancing individual and group needs
- Setting and enforcing ground rules
- Addressing and managing "problem issues"
- Development of timelines, schedules and benchmarks
Suggested prerequisite: Community Boards' The Basics of Mediation or similar mediation training/academic course work.
