2015 Monthly - Island-wide Beach Cleanup - Saturday, February 14, 2015

Singer Island Civic Association and Ritz-Carlton Residences are organizing an island-wide Beach Cleanup beginning in February.

WHEN: Monthly beach clean-up will be the second Saturday of every month beginning in February
thru ??????

WHERE: ENTIRE ISLAND - each building will clean their beach. Buildings adjacent to the public beaches will clean them.

WHO: Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Resort, Ocean Pointe Marriott, Oceania Palms Marriott, John D. MacArthur Beach
State Park, Martinique II, Sea Dunes, Sea Grape, Dolce Vita, Tiara, Ritz-Carlton, Mayan Towers, Palm Beach Shores Community Association, and much more!

If you would like to organize this for your building, please contact
Joy Africano at or 716-228-2588.
There is minimal work to be done in each clean-up.  Just a few volunteers and just 45 minutes or so of time spent strolling our lovely beaches.

Martin Luther King III, the eldest son of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., will headline a series of special events on Feb. 28 in Riviera Beach all designed to celebrate and promote community health. Hosted by the Riviera Beach Community Development Corporation (RBCDC), the festivities will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with an inspirational breakfast at the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island. Following the ticketed event, all are invited to join Mr. King as he walks down the street named after his father, which will soon be enhanced by a linear park and designated as a health trail. The walk will end at the new one-acre Riviera Beach Heights Community Garden, where Mr. King will dedicate the site and launch the volunteer activities to plant the first seedlings.
Riviera Beach Heights is the city's oldest neighborhood. In 2012, the RBCDC launched a $1.1 million neighborhood beautification program to revitalize vacant and underutilized properties. The Community Garden marks the completion of the first phase, and future improvements include the completion of the Linear Park between 6th St. and 8th St. and new sidewalks.
