CommUNITY Spotlight:
Do you have any year end (tax-deductible) donations in the form of: clothes, food, household items, cash, ...a 15 person van? ...or would you like to give a gift that will reach a local family within the City of Riviera Beach that is in need of some kindness over the Holidays?
SiCA would like to showcase this local charity, which is run by locals, to help families living in Riviera Beach:
Revival Community Outreach Ministries, Inc.
Here is a Wish List just in case you would like to help out over the Holidays:
1. A 15 Passenger Van: We have a lot of kids from the elementary school across the street that are being served, and there will be a lot more in the near future, especially with some of the programs that we have in mind. Not to mention the summer is coming up too. We realize it's a BIG item, and it will take some work, however now is better than anytime to mention the need.
2. Toys, ...there is a great need in this community, and that to is growing and we would like to just try and bridge the gap. We try to help as much as we can. We LOVE items for the girls, from ages 3 to 10, and the same for the boys.
3. Christmas lights and decorations for the organization's buildings to help bring everyone into the mood of the season. That would be wonderful.
4. Our Clothes Closet can use some recycled and perhaps new clothing and shoes for babies, children, teens, and our seniors.
5. Food: Can goods, dry goods, and non-perishable items for our Pantry, to help supplement the growing need for food, especially for the seniors. They are very proud, and sometime it's hard to get to them, but we keep trying, and they are coming around.
6. Our gardening project is going well, however we will need a few tools to help us alone. I enjoy gardening as well, actually I'm working on a Community Garden Project myself, and I will work with the kids as well. A couple rakes, garden hoes, 50ft. water hose, bags of compost, shovels , watering cans.
7. Used furniture and small appliances that many could use.
8. Cash donations, which can be a one time action, or monthly, bimonthly, or even quarterly.
