Other News:

Update from Councilperson Dawn S. Pardo

District 4 - 561-845-3683 - [email protected]

Fb: singerisland,district 4 (W/ FACEBOOK01)

Beautification projects continue

As part of the Councilwoman's continuing efforts to beatify District 4, new lighting and colorful landscaping is to be installed along Park Avenue and Lake Drive, between Island and Beach roads. Residents have surely already seen the new median landscaping that was installed over the summer. All of these new pops of color are thanks to Councilwoman Pardo's 'partnership' with the Department of Public Works, to which she gave $6,250 in Community Benefits funds in September to pay for all the plants and work.

Seen the new bench?

Watch the sun set over the Intracoastal one evening from the new fire-red bench installed in front of Fire Station #3 on North Ocean Drive. It results, too, from Councilwoman Pardo's Community Benefits fund which, by the way, is provided by Waste Management.

Update from Representative Bill Hager:

Sober Home Legislation Update

As you may already know I committed after last Session to re-filing the Sober Home bill in the 2015 Legislative Session. Immediately after being sworn into my third term last month, I filed House Bill 21, which will continue the good work we started and the conversations begun on sober home regulations from the 2014 Session. You can read an article from the Sun Sentinel here or watch a CBS 12 news story here. I will, of course, keep you apprised of this bill as it goes through the committee process.

Holiday Toy Drive

I am pleased to announce that in connection with TDL Centers, my office is participating in a Holiday Toy Drive to benefit Palm Beach County children through Family Central. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy by my office, which is located at 301 Yamato Road, Suite 1240, in Boca Raton. The toys will be delivered to Family Central on December 15th, so the last day to bring your gift by is December 12th. Stop in and say hello!

As always, it is my honor to serve you in the Florida House. If ever I may be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would also invite you to follow me on Twitter or Facebook for the most up-to-date information on the 2015 Legislative Session.
