Amrit Update: At the October 15 Council Meeting Dawn Pardo commented on the Amrit development.

She assured residents there would be community opportunity for input prior to the site plans going to Planning and Zoning which is the first step before going to Council. The plans are currently in revision and Dawn does not see them going before Council until sometime later in the first quarter of 2015.

Riviera Beach City Council Meetings: It is important that we all stay informed on issues affecting the City of Riviera Beach, which includes Singer Island. One good way is to observe actual council discussions via the replay of Channel 18 meeting videos, which are available on the Riviera Beach website. Some of you may DVR the meetings and watch them that way, but if you choose to watch via your computer, ipad, phone, etc., below is the shortcut to get to the issue of interest to you on the agenda.

Go to the video meeting archive by clicking the below link:
    http://www.rivierabch.com/content/13078/default.aspx

Click on the blue tab that says "City Council." A list of city council meetings and dates will come up, with an option to play video on the far right side. Once you click the "play" option for a specific meeting, the meeting's agenda will appear on the right, and a video screen on the left. Click on the agenda item you wish to watch.

If you want switch to watch a different agenda item, just go back to the right side and click on the next item you would like to watch. The video will begin playing.

Stay informed! This week be sure to listen to Item 14 and the City Council Committee Reports (at the bottom of that agenda). Government structure is discussed in Item 14 and "Committee Reports" addresses Amrit development concerns. The full agenda tab also has a shortcut to the video.

From: Agnes K. on Singer Island

    Subject: Mural

It would be nice to have a mural painted on the side of the building at the southwest corner of Blue Heron and US 1.  It's a perfect spot and would make the new park a lot more inviting  and pleasant.

From: Roe K. on Singer Island
Subject: Re: Public Improvement Revenue Bonds for Riviera Beach Infrastructure Repairs
I would be interested to know why Bimini Lane is not on the list? It doesn't make sense.  If they have all the equipment in this area, why would they skip one block???

From: Robert  C . on Pine Point
    Subject: Sale of Panama Hatties

If they allow the huge development scheduled to replace Panama Hatties.   it will create such a traffic jam at US1 and Jack Nicklaus Drive making an evacuation of Singer Island, over the bridge, virtually impossible.

[ Editor's note: See the latest news on the PGA deal:

Panama Hattie's redevelopment killed Condominiums are planned instead for the site on the old Palm Beach Gardens restaurant. Thank you for sending in your comments , a ton of people are now reading this newsletter.  We can use more input from you! Please keep sending in your comments, scoop, ideas and news to be shared here with over 2210 of your neighbors.  Your Singer Island Civic Association WILL stay on these issues ]
