Here is an update from Dawn S. Pardo,

Councilwoman, District 4

City of Riviera Beach

Dear Residents, Here's a very quick update.

A restaurant is being built on the corner of West Way and Blue Heron Blvd. I have heard it will be a seafood restaurant with a takeout menu.

A lease to house the Ambassador Program/Police Substation is expected to go to the CRA commission shortly. As mentioned a few weeks ago, the station will be located on East Blue Heron Blvd between Grator Gator and Bank of America at the old IFIX center.

On Wednesday, October 15, the City Council will (hopefully) approve a new interlocal agreement with the County which will allow condominiums from Ocean's Edge south to Oasis to participate in the beach renourishment program.

I would like to invite ALL Singer Island residents to attend a Meet & Greet at Sailfish Marina on Tuesday, October 14 at 5:30-7:00 to chat with our State Rep. Bill Hager. Rep Hager continues to be very passionate about regulating sober homes and will be filing new legislation during the next State Session. He has been hosting roundtable discussions around his district receiving input from elected officials, law enforcement and businesses. This issue is important to Singer Island.

Lastly, we are this close to signing a lease agreement with The Tiki. Fingers crossed. I look forward to seeing you next week at COASI's first meeting of the season!!

Progressing on your behalf,

Dawn Pardo

From Malachi Knowles, Secretary/Treasurer
Riviera Beach Community Development Corporation

Subject: Riviera Beach, FL: "The Best Waterfront City to Live, Work & Play!"

It is extremely noteworthy to have been a participant in this years "Annual Florida Redevelopment Association Conference" at the Hilton Miami Downtown, October 7-10, 2014 whereupon approximately four hundred (400) attendees had an opportunity to hear from Tony T. Brown, Executive Director, Riviera Beach Community Redevelopment Agency; Annetta Jenkins, Neighborhood Services Director, RBCRA and Ken Stapleton, President, Ken Stapleton & Associates to hear why Riviera Beach is indeed "The Best Waterfront City To Live, Work and Play" during two workshops. Their presentations were very well received and generated a lot of positive interest. I'm proud of our City and so should you. Please applaud them when next you see them!

From Frtiz F

Subj: Dates

Anytime you use a date in the newsletter, I suggest that you also put the day of the week along with the date.  For instance, instead of writing November 4th, I suggest that you use, Tuesday, November 4th.  I know we can all look it up in a calendar.  In the situation where there is not space or for some other reason, it can continue as is.

[ Editor's note:  Thanks Fritz, on it -except for areas that are carried over or linking out to other websites!  It was a slow week on input from readers so I'm adding my own comment... ]
