The Thursday 9/18 Demo & Debut Event!

 

The former Buddy's and Max & Eddies buildings are now being torn down.  The big announcement at the event: The new police substation & ambassador program will be located at the old iFix store on Blue Heron Blvd.

Sneak peek at Trader Joe's new PGA Blvd store - Palm Beach Post - In the pristine calm before the storm, the shelves of Trader Joe's Palm Beach Gardens market, funkified as always, swelled in anticipation. The madness started today at 8 a.m. (Friday 9/19), when this long-awaited location opened its doors at the PGA Plaza. It's the third Trader Joe's market to open in Palm Beach County in the past four months. A fourth location is scheduled to open in Boca Raton on Friday, Sept. 26.

 

Crowdfunding site helps raise money for local cultural projects - Palm Beach Post - The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County's fundraising page went live last week and has raised $27,000 since it launched.

Delray Beach artist building studio on barge near Peanut Island - wflx - An artist is taking his studio straight to his inspiration.
You'll never find William DeBilzan far from the water. "I've always loved this area," he said. "The beauty of the area here; the water is so clear." The artist, with galleries in Delray Beach and California, is living on a boat. Now, he's taking things to another level. Just east of Peanut Island, DeBilzan set up a 2,400 square-foot barge. Soon, it'll be his new, two-story studio but the Florida Department of Environmental Protection said it is looking at the situation. A representative from Palm Beach County said permits are normally needed for a project like this.

I too am concerned about the traffic all of these off-shore communities would create.  During season we have enough problems with traffic and adding more units and/or hotels would create a grid-lock.

Sept. 20: World's Largest Volunteer Beach Cleanup Comes to Palm Beach County - Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful joins hundreds of thousands of people around world for the 29th annual International Coastal Cleanup. The Ocean Conservancy announced the date for the 29th annual International Coastal Cleanup, a global event that mobilizes hundreds of thousands of people to take action for our ocean, for September 20.  By joining the movement for Trash Free Seas, volunteers will help clean up trash already in the ocean and work to reduce their own trash impact before it happens. Saturday, September 20, 2014 with additional dates in September and October. Sept. 27: The Palm Beach Marriott at Singer Island Beach Resort and Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful Association joins hundreds of thousands of people around the world for the 29th Annual International Coastal Cleanup.  Last year, nearly 650,000 people picked up more than 12 million pounds of trash along 13,000 miles of coastline.  Please join in: Saturday, September 27, 2014 Beach Front by the Tiki Bar. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Cleanup lasts 45-Minutes and is open to EVERYONE including the kids
