Great things happen in the Lutheran schools of the South Wisconsin District and I want to be able to share these. If you have something you feel is worth sharing, email me at cody@swd.lcms.org

This was the first real Easter where my 2 year old son James enjoyed searching for Easter eggs. By extension, this was the first real Easter where I enjoyed hiding these Easter eggs in goofy places such as in the microwave or in his oatmeal. James' eggs contained were filled with small treats and gifts like chocolate chips or stickers. The joy he expressed upon finding the treats and gifts in these eggs was overwhelming. It is easy to imagine how he might have reacted if one of those eggs was empty! Needless to say, it wouldn't have been pretty.

As Christians, our hope and joy is found in the empty tomb. Is our joy evident to those around us? Are our shouts of "Alleluia!" and "He has risen!" relegated to Easter Sunday? Because we are sinners, sometimes we take that empty tomb for granted. We take for granted all that Jesus did - suffering, death, and resurrection - as we move through our lives. As administrators and teachers, we need to constantly be reminded of the joy that comes with Jesus' death and resurrection. We need to be reminded of this daily so that we can be witnesses of His resurrection to the families and students we come into contact with.

Yes, Jesus has risen, He has risen, indeed!

Chris

"JOYFULLY WALKING WITH OUR LORD!"

By living in faith we find JOY!!
Whether we feel sad or happy, we can still Joyfully walk with the Lord. As we praise and thank God for the many blessings and gifts He gives us, we remember the greatest gift - His Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ.
During Lent and Easter, we celebrate our Lord who died and rose again so that we will forever! Can you imagine the JOY Jesus' disciples felt when they realized they were again able to walk with their Friend, their Savior, and their King?
We pray you will be eager to inspire your young students and their families to live in JOY as they grow and learn; praising their Savior and telling others about Him!
