Share Your Stories
Great things happen in the Lutheran schools of the South Wisconsin District and I want to be able to share these. If you have something you feel is worth sharing, email me at cody@swd.lcms.org
They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink;
for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.
1 Corinthians 10:3-4

On Wednesday, I will be leading chapel at Martin Luther High School. The theme of the message I plan on sharing will be "What are you drinking?" I am basing my message off of the Epistle reading for this past weekend that speaks about drinking from the spiritual rock of Christ. Although researchers and others still debate the old adage "8 oz. of water, 8 times a day," there is no debating that our bodies need generous
amounts of water to survive. If I haven't had enough water to drink throughout the course of the day, my
body will remind me as my calves cramp up in the evening. Without enough water, we become dehydrated. If we become severely dehydrated, organ systems within our bodies begin to shut down. In much the same way, we need to be drinking our "spiritual water." If we are not regularly in God's Word and in God's house and partaking in Holy Communion, we are depriving ourselves of spiritual water. As school leaders, we need to model this to our faculty, staff, students, and families. If we are not taking care of ourselves physically, mentally, emotionally, and SPIRITUALLY, we suffer...and our work with God's children suffers as well. Take care of spiritual self by drinking from the rock of Christ.

KohlsKoh's Cares Field Trip Grant Program

They say home is where the heart is. And we will always give back to the place where we got our start. We partner with organizations in greater Milwaukee that are focused on helping families lead fulfilled lives and make a difference in our Hometown. We are excited to once again offer field trip grants to eligible schools in the Milwaukee area to visit some of our partner organizations. Through the Kohl's Field Trip Grant Program, principals, assistant principals, or other school administrative personnel are encouraged to apply to receive up to three grants for their school (maximum grant value of $1,000 each).

NEW! Register your school beginning February 16, 2016 to determine if your school is eligible to receive a grant. Eligible schools can then submit grant applications to select Kohl's Hometown partners from March 7 - March 18, 2016.
