I Corinthians 12:12:20
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body-whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free-and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.
Now if the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

According to the Strengths Finder assessment that most of you took for our Administrators Conference this week, the words above most accurately describe me. Now, I haven't taken the time to read up on what any of these actually mean, but I am sure as I go through the book they will help to enlighten many aspects of my life. As I looked through the adjectives that described those of you who submitted your strengths, it was apparent that God has gifted our South Wisconsin District with a great variety of leaders and leadership styles. Thank God for the uniqueness that each one of us possesses! We have each been gifted with different strengths and abilities. While the focus of the Administrators Conference on Tuesday will be on how we can relate to each other, to our teachers, and to our school communities using our identified strength, take time also to consider how you can use your strengths to share the Gospel with those around you.

Rostered Worker Compensation |
How are you paying your ROSTERED teachers?
A rostered teacher (whether part-time, full-time, temporary, called, or contracted) teaching in an LCMS school is performing service in-ministry and therefore his or her compensation is reported the same as all commissioned and ordained ministers in the LCMS performing in-ministry: employee for income tax purposes (use of a Form W-2), not subject to mandatory tax withholding, eligible for housing allowance, and participates in SS under SECA system (self-employment tax) rather than FICA.

Kohl Scholarships |

WCRIS is happy to once again administer the Herb Kohl Education Foundation scholarships this year on behalf of our members and the students they serve. This year each award has been increased to $3,000! These awards are a tremendous opportunity for your schools to recognize and honor the achievements of your students and teachers. The deadlines are fast approaching and it is very important that we make these opportunities available to our teachers and students.
Student Excellence Award
14 students from religious and independent schools will be selected out of 100 statewide, and awarded a $3,000 scholarship for post-secondary education.
Excellence Scholarship application forms will be provided to schools in September. Schools should make applications available to all interested students. Completed applications must be received by the District office no later than November 25, 2015.
PLEASE NOTE: All Excellence Scholarship and Fellowship applications must be typed. For your convenience, both applications are provided in a format that is compatible with Microsoft Word.
