Listening Curiously
Jeff Meyer serves as Senior Pastor of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church, Madison, Wisconsin. Here he shares about leadership in ministry:

Part of our Church's creation story was recorded in Martin Luther's famous statement: "I cannot and will not recant anything, for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Here I stand; I can do not other, so help me God. Amen." We Lutherans fancy ourselves as "truth-tellers." We get a certain adrenaline rush when we correct error. When the odds are stacked against us, we will stand. I think we actually like the challenge that comes when truth is under attack. We need to stand strong.

I'd like you to consider another equally compelling challenge. We need to listen curiously.

What Do You Say About Your Church?

LCEF Partner for 2016 NYG

LCEF has been an important partner to those attending LCMS National Youth Gatherings. We will once again provide financial services for youth groups, workers, and volunteers.

A major concern for anyone who travels is handling money, and congregation leaders, parents and young people attending this major event are no different. We want the experience to be fun, memorable and safe!

LCEF's Visa prepaid cards are a great alternative to giving cash to youth group members. Lost cards can be easily replaced, and funds not used can be returned to the youth group's StewardAccount for future events.

The LCEF Exchange, also will be operating during the Gathering, July 16-20, 2016, in New Orleans. this service allows for on-site cash transactions for workers, volunteers, DCEs, parents and attendees.

NEW this year! Youth leaders can text LCEFNYG to 3131-31 for LCEF tips and tolls as they prepare for and enjoy the Gathering.

> > If you have a youth group that is planning on going to the NYG, please have the group leader contact Robin - - at the District office. We want to make sure they are receiving all the information from the District office regarding the District event, t-shirts, etc. < <

Health Care is Changing!

Concordia Plan Services is here to help.
Health Care - Past & Future
Since March of 2010, when the Patient Protection and Affordable Care ACT (ACA) was signed into law, Concordia Plan Services has devoted significant time and effort to understanding how health care reform will affect LCMS ministries and their workers, as well as the Concordia Health Plan (CHP). Our primary focus is to provide valuable, affordable, and competitive benefit programs that meet the needs of LCMS ministries and their workers - and to do so in a manner consistent with our faith.

Changing With Health Care
Concordia Plan Services will retain emphasis in stability and education, as we introduce transition. this transition will revolve around four key factors to meet the needs of employers and workers. These factors include:
