TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

God Works

It's hard to believe another year is drawing to a close. All administrators and teachers experience the highs and lows throughout the school year, so here is a simple question to consider; Have you seen God work this school year?  While it's a simple question, it's probably more complex to answer. Maybe in some cases the situation you are working through hasn't been resolved and you are waiting to see how God will work. Even as you experienced the highs, it might have been easy to recognize someone else's efforts, maybe even your own. Don't feel bad, you're in good company - all sinners do it!

While it's almost impossible to visit every school every year, these have been the highlight of my time in the District Office. I have seen many wonderful school ministries, including supportive congregational church leaders, administrators and teachers that "get it" and truly evident that God works in those places. But God only works through His disciples, those who have been Called according to His purpose. South Wisconsin is unique in many perspectives compared to other Districts. We encompass all educational ministers, rural, suburban, urban, special education, homeschool partnerships and collegiate education. Not every District can say that each of these areas thrive like they do in SWD. And the partnerships that exist between us is priceless!

God has, is and will continue to work in our educational ministries. Highs and lows will continue to be experienced, and yet God will work through it all.

Remain faithful and true to your convictions and beliefs and see some amazing things!

Opportunity to support a Racine Lutheran High School Athlete

It is with great pride that I announce that one of Racine Lutheran High School's seniors Emily Hlavacek has been selected to play on the Division 4 South All Star Team in the annual Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All Star Game. This is quite an achievement as Emily was selected to the team from all the players in our school's state athletic division in order to participate in this State All-Star basketball game. The game will be played at the Just-A-Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells on Friday, June 19.

The main function of the WBCA games is to raise money for the MACC (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer) Fund, and all proceeds go directly to this fund. Each athlete is asked to secure sponsors.  All the players involved in this event need to raise $500 in order to participate. I am hoping that you might help Emily by contributing as a "sponsor" for this event.

Information on how you can be a "sponsor" and support Emily.
