The Untold Story: "The First Rosa" |

An effort is under way to tell the untold story of Lutheran

educator and church planter Rosa J. Young. There was another Rosa, but Rosa Young was first. Rosa Parks started a civil rights revolution; Rosa Young started a spiritual revolution.
The Rev. Roosevelt Gray Jr., director of LCMS Black Ministry, leads the production of an LCMS documentary chronicling the unprecedented mission work of Rosa Young and Lutheran missionary Rev. Nils Bakke in Alabama during the early 1900s.
Planned for a 2015 release, the film, titled "The First Rosa," is a story that will inform the church and other public audiences of Rosa Young's remarkable impact on people as she proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Congratulations to Divine Redeemer, Hartland and St. Paul, Grafton!
The National Lutheran Accreditation Commission selected Divine Redeemer and St. Paul as two of five outstanding Lutheran schools in the United States for special recognition as exemplary accredited schools. These schools have demonstrated compliance with (NLSA) accreditation criteria that exceeded expectations related to the educational and ministry standards that are expected for accredited schools. In addition, they have demonstrated innovative leadership through the implementation of Best Practices related to the academic quality and spiritual development of its students.

The following schools were also unanimously selected to received this prestigious award during the 2015-16 academic year:
- Immanuel Lutheran School, Wentzville, Missouri
- St. Michaels Lutheran School, Fort Meyers, Florida
- St. Peter Lutheran School, Arlington Heights, Illinois
