Embrace the Tension
Born in Walburg, Texas, the second youngest of nine children, John Kieschnick received a B.S. in Education from Concordia Teachers' College, River Forest, Ill. Throughout his ministry, John has served on a variety of synodical boards and committees, both national and district (Texas). He has authored numerous stewardship Bible studies and programs.

There are many reasons I am a Lutheran. The greatest thing I treasure as a Lutheran is salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. C.F.W. Walther's insights in his classic book, "The Proper Distinction between Law and Gospel," were a life changer for me. It has helped me embrace the tension which exists in the Christian life.  Read more...

Summer Internship Program

Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) announces its Summer Internship Program for summer 2015. The program will provide an opportunity for four college students to explore career paths and gain valuable work experience in the areas of Ministry Support, Information Technology, Marketing, and Lending and Real Estate Management.

LCEF assists Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod ministries, facilitating the sharing of the Gospel through investments, loans and ministry-support services, ensuring funds and resources are available now and in the future to empower ministries in Kingdom work.

An internship at LCEF will give the student real-world experience in an environment that is intellectually challenging and rewarding. The interns will gain valuable on-the-job experience and develop professional skills while learning about career opportunities at LCEF. Interns will benefit from a supportive, ministry-oriented environment.

Recipe of the Month

A great recipe to use up the "left over" ham.

"For I know the plans I have for you,"
            declares the LORD,
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future."
                                                Jeremiah 29:11
