School Leaders,

Debate surrounding Wisconsin's school choice programs are heating up and our voice needs to be heard!  The members of the Legislature's Joint Finance Committee will be holding hearings throughout the state over the next two weeks to hear feedback on Governor Walker's proposed budget.  School Choice Wisconsin is working hard to make sure the best interest of students and the program are taken into account but we need your help.  Here is what you can do:

  • Contact ALL of the members of the Joint Finance Committee and ask them to Support School Choice Expansion and to fight for Fair Funding.  JFC members phone numbers and email addresses can be found on our website at:
  • Click HERE and fill out an email form to contact your state legislators and the Governor asking them to Expand Parental Choice with Fairly Funded Vouchers!
  • Utilize the attached "School Choice Works" images on your social media and website.
  • Attend a Joint Finance Committee hearing.  Hearing dates can be found HERE.
Please pass this email on to your supporters, families, boards, etc.  As always do not hesitate to contact SCW with any questions! We thank you for your support!

After the first Joint Finance hearing on the Budget, it was not a bad day in the media for us.

We didn't have a big turn out of our folks but we got fair coverage by TV. That's worth a lot in the court of public opinion, which influences legislators.

You can see the video report by NBC 26 Green Bay but also read the story, which is longer at: http://www.jrn.com/nbc26/news/Budget-Hearing-Session-in-Brillion-Draws-Hundreds-296803691.html

Also, WCRIS Principal Doug Olig, of St. Mary's Springs Academy, Fond Du Lac, was quoted by Fox 11 in Green Bay: http://fox11online.com/2015/03/18/citizens-sounding-off-on-state-budget/. Nice job!

Please share these links with your schools and encourage principals to attend the remaining hearings and bring some students.

Please have the Principals call us beforehand so we can help them make the best use of their time and efforts. School Choice Wisconsin will provide T-shirts and can reimburse cost of transportation.

Have a blessed week!

Sherry
