delegatesAdvisory Delegates for Synod Convention

In accordance with the Synodical Handbook, all ordained and commissioned ministers whose names appear on the official roster of the SWD are required to attend the Convention. Rostered commissioned ministers, even if retired or not serving, are advisory delegates and may not act as a lay delegate.

For every 60 rostered Ministers of Reglion--Commissioned, the SWD is entitled to 1 advisory delegate [Bylay 3.1.3.1] to the national LCMS Convention in Milwaukee, July 9-14, 2016. The election of these delegates and alternates (13 each) will take place during registration at the SWD Convention at CUW, June 7, 2015.

Please share the following form with all of your rostered commissioned workers.

Leaders,

Hopefully by now you have seen Governor Walker's proposed budget.  In the coming months, both WCRIS and SCW will be asking for your help to contact legislators in support of a variety of items, but specifically to the proposed voucher program.   Please take action on these items as well as get your parents involved as an advocate: http://www.wcris.org/becomeanadvocate.cfm

Please also note the updated list of vendors (via the DPI website) who are working towards being compliant.  As mentioned, which I know some of you have, contact your current provider (if you have one) to determine the their compliance with Ed-Fi.  If you do not have a vendor, common ones being used in our area are TADS, Sycamore, Fast Direct and Skyward.

cuwpromiseConcordia Promise and Dual Credit
CUW promise

With preparations for the fall semester and high school class registration right around the corner, I wanted to remind you of the opportunity your students have to earn college credit and high school credit concurrently.  Concordia University has stepped out boldly to help students of Christian high schools get a head start on college to save both time and money!

We recently launched our new Concordia Promise scholarship that drastically reduces the student cost for Dual Credit courses.  The scholarship brings the cost down to only $50 per credit.  Credits are generally transferable as core curriculum courses.  However, the students are also eligible for the Concordia Promise Plus tuition back grant if they choose Concordia University (Wisconsin or Ann Arbor) for their undergraduate studies.  That means students can get college credits essentially FREE!  Please view the following links for more information:

Please view the following links for more information about Dual Creditand our fully online courses:

We are currently accepting applications for the Fall 2015 Semester. The deadline to submit all application materials is Friday, July 31.

Classes that will be offered in a fully online format pending enough student interest include: Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Psychology, American Civilization, Civilization and Worldviews: Literature, Introduction to Writing, Principles of Management, Principles of Economics, Principles of Marketing, Introduction to Business Writing, American Government, Accounting I, Accounting II, and Foundations of Computer Science.

Please let me know how I can be helpful to you in sharing this dual credit information with your students and school families.

My goal is to ensure that the dual credit experience is positive and beneficial for the students and the participating high schools.  Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions you have regarding the dual credit courses or the Concordia Promise program.
