If God's justice could be recognized as just by

"Going Beyond the Story:  Everyday with Jesus"

Going beyond the story is an essential piece of authentic faith development. Understanding basic concepts of a Bible story is important, but our goal in this workshop is to go beyond the stories and creatively connect them to the daily lives of young children.

God works in mysterious ways! Even when we don't see the benefits or outcomes of His work, He is still at work in our lives. There are connections to God's love in many aspects of our classrooms. Whether it is through integration with a science experiment or reading a popular, secular picture book, Jesus is all around us. As educators, it is vital that we are able to help children discover and develop a child's personal connections and experiences to Biblical topics. We hope to support children as they learn to serve God and live by faith in His grace.

STEPStudent Tools for Emergency Planning (STEP)
STEP is a turn-key classroom curriculum for teachers to prepare 5th-graders for various emergencies and disasters, including tornadoes, flooding and storms. The program also shows students how to put together an emergency kit and develop an emergency plan with their families.

Schools interested in applying for the STEP program must visit http://readywisconsin.wi.gov/STEP/default.asp. Applications are due by Nov. 1, and participants will be notified by Dec. 1. Materials will be distributed to schools in early January, and instruction should be complete by the end of the 2013-2014 academic year.

Teachers are provided with all materials at no cost to the schools, including instructor guides, DVDs and copies of student handouts. All students participating in the program will also receive an emergency kit to take home, which includes a flashlight, first aid kit and emergency blanket. The basic lesson is only one hour of instruction, but teachers can expand the lessons to cover eight hours of materials.

rosettaRosetta Stone - Last Chance

More schools have participated from the partnership with Rosetta Stone this year more than any other previous year!

We are in the process of wrapping up the orders coming in from LCMS Schools.  Your schools are able to purchase an online subscription at a negotiated rate of $79 per learner.  A minimum of 10 learners must be purchased by a participating school.  The schools will have access to any language offered by Rosetta Stone.  This can also be used on and off campus.  Please have any interested schools contact me to place an order for their school.

I look forward to working with your schools!

Thanks again,
