THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

Better is a dry morsel with quietness,
Than a house full of feasting with strife.

Yell and Tell
|

I've had a few responses to the Yell and Tell program. I understand that this is a busy time of year to schedule one more thing. However, I don't want this to fall off the radar.
If your intent is to participate, please send me an email by Friday, May 9. The proposed training event will not take place until we have more definitive numbers.

Colloquy Scholarships
|
This year we have a new plan designed to provide a little breathing room for teachers and other church workers who desire to enter the Colloquy Program:
* From June 2014 through June 2015, tuition for each class in the colloquy program will be reduced from $720 to $649. That's all courses in all months from June to June. That should help!
* In addition, the Old Testament Scholarship will remain in force all year. This scholarship covers full tuition for the first course in the program, allowing each student to enter the program with ease.
* Finally, as a special gift to those teachers who can start the program this summer with a class in June, we have a Gracious Gift Scholarship available. All teachers who enroll and begin the program in June 2014 will receive a scholarship worth $100 for each class they need to take in the program (through June 2015). This scholarship is available to new colloquy students only, and is offered first come, first served. We have a limited number of Gracious Gift Scholarships available, so teachers should contact CUEnet right away at 1-800-238-3037 or at info@cuenet.edu to register for their June class.
All of this means that a teacher who begins the Colloquy Program this June could (assuming she can take advantage of all the gifts listed above) finish the entire program over the next year at a cost of $3843, a significant savings over the regular tuition of $5760! I hope you will share this news with all of your staff. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us right away.
More information is available at www.cuenet.edu..

CCSS Seminar
|
Looking for engaging and practical professional development?
Grasp an overview of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), explore the shifts in instruction and assessment they require, develop new tools, and strategize on how to maintain the uncommon quality of your Christian school... "Uncommon Core Considerations for Christian Schools."
This seminar, designed for both school administrators and classroom practitioners, will examine how the CCSS impacts curriculum and assessment, textbooks, parents, and--most importantly--our Christian faith and identity. The event will provide an overview of the CCSS movement, its supporters and detractors, and practical and spiritual considerations for schools, teachers, and administrators. It will be an active and engaging event with a chance to strategize with like-minded educators from across the country. Join us!
