CCSS Seminar
|
Looking for engaging and practical professional development?
Grasp an overview of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), explore the shifts in instruction and assessment they require, develop new tools, and strategize on how to maintain the uncommon quality of your Christian school... "Uncommon Core Considerations for Christian Schools."
This seminar, designed for both school administrators and classroom practitioners, will examine how the CCSS impacts curriculum and assessment, textbooks, parents, and--most importantly--our Christian faith and identity. The event will provide an overview of the CCSS movement, its supporters and detractors, and practical and spiritual considerations for schools, teachers, and administrators. It will be an active and engaging event with a chance to strategize with like-minded educators from across the country. Join us!

Pre-K by Conscription or Choice?
Pre-K by conscription or choice? That's how John Coons, professor of law, emeritus, at the University of California at Berkeley, frames a central question in the current debate about early education policy. Will parents be told by the government where to enroll their four-year-olds, or will they have a genuine choice of providers?
