I am very excited to let you know that we are ready to introduce you to our upcoming, first-ever Annual Summer Pride Series and what this is all about. We will also share with you the exciting news of our next space for T22's 2015 productions, and introduce our newest team member who has joined the staff of Theatre22.

It is a busy and exciting time for us as we prepare for The Party! on April 5th, line up all of our needs for The Lisbon Traviata starting rehearsals in six weeks, and lay the ground work for T22's second season!

Our 2015 Home on Capitol Hill

Theatre22 is PROUD to announce that we have solidified plans to house the majority of our 2nd Season at 12th Avenue Arts that will open on Capitol Hill this summer. We are slated for two slots of our potential three production season at this exciting new venue in Seattle.

Responding to the loss of arts space in the neighborhood, the 12th Ave Arts Development features two custom-designed, flexible theaters to be managed by New Century Theatre Company, Strawberry Theatre Workshop, and Washington Ensemble Theatre. Together, these companies form the Black Box Operations.

Black Box Operations is the Master Tenant of the theatre facilities at 12th Avenue Arts, a development ofCapitol Hill Housing LLC.When

the property becomes available in the summer of 2014, the three organizational partners of Black Box Operations will share two flexible venues in at 12th Avenue Arts. These spaces will also available for rental to community organizations.

This is where Theatre22 comes in. After many months of proposals, scheduling, rescheduling and re-submitting proposals, Theatre22 has solidified 12th Avenue Arts Studio Theatre for our 2015 Season in March/April and again in June/July.

Introducing our Newest Staff Member!

Join us in welcoming Sascha Streckel to the T22 Team.

Sasha will be working closely with the team to strengthen our administration and development efforts.

Sascha Streckel, Artistic Associate, is a recent Seattlite, hailing from Texas with her BFA from Stephens College in Missouri. After graduating from the second-oldest women's college in the country, she discovered she had a vested interested in fostering and supporting women in the arts. As an actress she has worked locally with Book-It Repertory Theatre, Annex Theatre, Porkfilled Productions, LiveGirls!, Greenstage and others. Since its reinstatement in 2012, she has performed annually in the Seattle Fringe Festival, and her production of Operation Hibernation was nominated for a Broadway World Award in 2013. Sascha has worked on numerous films, most recently The Devil Walks in Salem which will premier at the Seattle International Film Festival in 2014, and a webseries House of Glass which will be promoting its upcoming season at Emerald City Comicon. She is a proud teaching artist of many years, helping to facilitate and bring arts to youth groups and students across the country. Locally she works with Y.E.S. Theatre 9/12, Stone Soup Theatre, Seattle's Littlest Performers, and Sweet Pea Cottage. Sascha is the Development Director for Annex Theatre who produces upwards of 8 new works annually all with strong central female characters. She has previously worked as the Public Relations Manager for the Warehouse Theatre in Columbia, Missouri. She has managed and assisted in several different box offices across the country and enjoys learning the inner workings of every company she has had the opportunity to spend time with. She couldn't be more excited to begin a relationship with Theatre22!
