Greetings!

We hope this newsletter finds you very well and enjoying your summer.

Rehearsals began for 5th of July this past weekend and what a talented and skilled group of artists and designers we have gather to create this piece.

Listening to the table read on Saturday I was reminded of how beautifully appropriate this show is cast (thanks Julie and Alber).  I was filled with so much joy and excitement from hearing the lines out loud for the very first time.  Lanford Wilson's script is rich, poignant and comedic.  The characters and relationships within are deeply and meticulously developed.

There is so much that goes into developing and opening a new theatre company and there are those nights that I wake from anxiety over whether or not the choices we are making are right.  Which show we stage first, to introduce ourselves, has been one of the most important decisions we have made to date.

I walked away from Saturday's rehearsal with the most incredible sense of trust that the right decision was made and that the right cast and crew was assembled to bring it to life.  THIS play, cast and crew wholly  represent who and what Theatre22 wants to be.

Please do consider obtaining your tickets in advance.  Our space, West of Lenin, is an intimate treasure in Fremont with limited seating.  We hope to get as many of our friends in as possible.

Wishing you all the best,

Corey McDaniel

At a sprawling farmhouse in rural Missouri, Ken, a legless Vietnam veteran and his lover, Jed, welcome a disparate group of colorful old friends and family for an impromptu reunion. As they reminisce, lost dreams and buried resentments are revealed in often hilarious and profoundly moving ways. Shattered hopes poignantly become the seeds for new life.
