It's a head thing: Oral Cancer!
|
Michael Douglas (60sec)
|
New research is finding out more about head, neck and a HPV connection. Oral cancers too have made big news lately and is something everyone should be more aware!
With the growing number of HPV (Human Pampllomavirus) cases among young persons, older Americans must be fully aware of its personal impact on their generations.
 | Snapshot of HPV |
HPV, is the most common sexually transmitted infection affecting both males and females and is the cause of nearly all cases of cervical cancer. Unlike other sexually transmitted infections, most signs and symptoms of HPV are nonexistent; therefore, most with the disease are unaware of their infection.
Of the more than 40 types of HPV (up to 100), some types may cause genital warts and a small number may lead to cervical, vulvae, vaginal and anal cancers in women or anal and penile cancers in men. Various types may also transmit infection to the mouth and throat, and they have been associated with an increased risk for cardiovascular disease.
What a revelation, who knew! We at Wine For Cures are attempting to find various issues that are
not in the headlines everyday.
The next video of Mike Douglas is just for fun,
yet holds comments that are important to know!
