Are you in? Every year the National Literacy Directory connects 50,000 potential students, volunteers, and advocates to literacy services, education programs, and testing centers nationwide. This dynamic website and database is celebrating its fifth year with new features and plans to support programs listed in the Directory, with new opportunities to address critical issues as well as new funding and awareness tools--starting October 2015.

We're adding new features to help students and volunteers find your program and learn more about how you can help them, too. Visit NationalLiteracyDirectory.org today to submit your new listing or update your existing one. Join by November 20 for a chance to apply for the Directory's first grant opportunity. The National Literacy Directory, available in English and Spanish, is managed by the National Center for Families Learning, with generous support from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.

NCFL is a strand partner of the COABE 2016 Conference, and COABE is a sponsoring partner of the National Literacy Directory.

NCTN's annual conference is geared towards adult education, workforce development, and postsecondary educators, advisors, and administrators. Workshop themes this year include foundational skills, acceleration strategies and effective practices for college transition, career pathways and ESOL/ESL programs, preparing students for college-level reading, writing, and math, advising and support services, and more. The conference is taking place in a time of great change, challenge, and opportunity in the adult education field.  Through the sharing of innovative and effective practices, strategies, and policies we aim to strengthen our collective capacity to ensure that soon all adults will have access to the college and careers they desire to earn family-sustaining wages and enjoy a higher quality of life. The complete workshop and conference schedule is available here.

NCTN is a COABE 2016 Conference strand partner.
