You can make effective use of time by listening to titles while you drive, eat, exercise or relax. Audio CDs work around your schedule. You can start and stop whenever you want, you can even repeat programs for better comprehension. Audio titles make learning easy and our Tape Rental Library is easy to use. There is an extensive library of titles from a wide variety of authors and publishers. CDs are sent directly to you.
Here's how to order:From the Portal log-in, go to Departments/Colleague Development, under Quick Links click on the Online Tape Rental Library Catalog (lower right-hand side of page). Our company order number is 8079. If you are a new user, you'll want to take some time to review the categories and titles. If you are a returning user, be sure to click on the new titles - updates occur frequently.
There is no charge to you. Simply place your online order and return each CD in the pre-addressed, return mailer. Orders are processed and shipped same day. If you ordered multiple CDs, when one title is returned, your next selection goes out the same day by first class mail. Some titles have workbooks or other printed material. The material is sent as part of your order when requested.

The customer, Fred Conner of Albany, MO, does feed business with ADM dealer Hillside Angus Beef, Bethany, MO. Fred first describes his customer service experience and his operation's needs...
"I would like to thank Ronda Driskill, nutritionist for ADM, and Dan & Carolyn Heyle of Hillside Beef, for assisting me with my request to develop a fairly simple ration for my Angus replacement heifers using locally available feedstuffs. (A ration) that was economical and would maintain my performance levels and ultrasound measurements. Having been a longtime advocate of performance testing and utilizing ultrasound measurements since 2001, I did not want to regress in my weights or measurements.
"I was introduced to AminoGain by a friend who feeds a lot of cattle and was sold on the value of AminoGain in a ration. Our 2015-born Angus heifers averaged 907 lb yearling weight, 5.77 IMF, 11.3 rib-eye, and 0.29 back fat. This was done on 6 lb of ration per day plus unlimited late-cut grass hay."

Welcome Aboard The Commercial Swine Team would like to welcome swine nutritionist Dr. Matthew Asmus to ADM Animal Nutrition™. He is currently finishing up his Ph.D. at Purdue University. Matt received his M.S. in monogastric nutrition from Kansas State University and his B.S. from Michigan State University. Matt will office out of his home in southern Michigan, and we're looking forward to introducing him to our colleagues, customers and prospects. Welcome aboard, Matt!

Anything from basic nutrition/management concepts through our wide array of technologies can be found in these reports. I'd encourage you to take some time to review them, so you're aware of the library of resources. These can be found on the Portal's Commercial Swine page under the Presentations/Educational tab.
ADM Animal Nutrition Commercial Swine Team As we continue to add depth and expertise to our team, our group will be getting together in the next two weeks to begin formulating research plans for 2017. These meetings are the basis for new products and product enhancements as we look forward to FY17. As always, we look forward to input from our colleagues in the field.

The Consumer Team has launched their new Facebook Page -- Pen Pals Poultry! Be one of the first to Like this new marketing and communication tool, and be sure to let all your Pen Pals Poultry customers and prospects know about it. Help spread the word on Pen Pals Poultry Feeds!
Earlier this year, our Consumer group began pushing digital content out to dealers for use in their social media, websites, and email campaigns. Once the dealer accepts the invitation from ADM to participate, they can click on any product or program information that we send to them, and it will immediately be posted to their social media. There is no cost to the dealer. We are sending no less than two campaigns per week. Engaged dealers are sharing ADM content via Promoboxx! Contact Sheldon Bailey with questions.

Forage Booking Reminder: As we end the second period of the Forage Booking Program, please work with customers that have not yet taken their product booked during the first and second period. Inventory is set based upon bookings and some additional product to account for non-booked customers. When silage starts running it becomes a race to see who gets product, and we want to ensure that booked customers get their product needs met. It is their responsibility to take product when they said they would be needing it. The Allure™ Program is formulated to promote optimal pellet acceptance while ensuring pellet durability; both critical factors in transitioning cows into a robotic milking system for optimal performance. Adifo -- The Time is Now All of our dairy representatives and dairy-focused dealers have participated in Adifo ration-balancing training. This program provides ADM with a sustainable, state-of-the-art ration-balancing program. Ration balancing is the foundation of the value stream we offer our dairy customers. Being competent in the use of the Adifo program is therefore critical to your success and value proposition you provide your customers and prospects. Effective September 1, the Dalex program will no longer be available. With that, time flies and there is a lot of work to do -- you have to transfer existing client information, be as proficient as you can be with Adifo, and be prepared to use this new program before the Fall when you will be extremely busy changing diets. The Dairy Team understands that you will undoubtedly have questions on the program. The good news is we have an excellent support team in Drs. Don Jaquette, Brian Lammers and Rod Friesen, who are more than willing to address any questions you may have. Just click their name above to send an email if you have any questions.
Mooving Upward -- Dairy Team Successes! - New Lactation and Dry Cow Business: Congratulations to Byron Schunk and Dr. Rod Friesen on earning the business of a prominent 3,000-cow dairy in Michigan. This account had been a long time customer that left ADM a few years back, but this didn't keep Byron and Daniel Lindquist, of Harvey Milling Company, from keeping the relationship intact. This was truly a team effort with Dr. Friesen working closely with the operation's nutritionist in developing the formulas and Byron and Daniel closing the sale. This account is shipping approximately 600 ton per month with another herd they have that are only currently purchasing dry cow product. Great job, Byron, Doc and Daniel!
- New Calf Milk Replacer, Calf Concentrate and Finisher Business: Congratulations to Patrick Heacock and Bob Ostrowski on earning the business a large, progressive commercial calf producer in Minnesota that has over 1,000 calves on feed and is in the process of completing facilities to grow their capacity to 2,000-2,400 head. They've been working on this account for the last couple of months and just secured the first order of custom milk replacer which, if performs as expected, will move to full semi-load quantities. The producer committed to go with ADM on both his finisher and calf concentrate as well. A great job, Patrick and Bob!!
- New Ecosyl Customer: The beef guys are stepping up! Mark Daniel (ADM Commercial Beef Specialist in TX) earned the business of a new account. The customer had placed their order a few weeks ago for 16 bottles of Ecosyl®* 800. The crop ran heavier than anticipated, generating placement of another order for 8 more bottles of Ecosyl 800. To add to that, the custom chopper that is doing the work is very pleased with how Ecosyl is working for them (mixes well, keeps well, stays mixed, no plugging.) The cutter is from the Dalhart, TX, area, which has huge tonnage potential. Mark hopes to be able to network with this cutter to further grow the business. Great job, Mark!
- Buckeye Success: Congrats to Dr. Brian Lammers on securing the silage preservative business of the largest dairy in Ohio! They will be treating 60,000 tons of silage this year using Silo-Guard®*. They had used Silo-Guard with success previously, but thought it was a bit expensive and went another direction last year. It didn't work out too well for them and are they back on the program. Great job, Brian!

Biotin Added to all ADM Equine Feeds
Biotin benefits hoof integrity based on its role in keratin-protein synthesis and is needed in the intracellular matrix of the hoof; biotin deficiency has been attributed to hair loss and lackluster hair color in some species. Be sure to inform all your equine feed customers. Biotin will be guaranteed on tags in September.

R&D/Innovation News
Research Lab Facility Being Relocated The Research Lab facility is relocating from 30th St. in Quincy to the Mendon Research Center northeast of Mendon, IL. ADM Animal Nutrition has decided to upgrade our research lab capabilities and build a new facility on the Mendon Research Center site to add research capabilities and efficiency for the animal feed research team. All of the lab equipment and personnel will be in the new upgraded facility by September 2016 to take advantage of being in close proximity to the intensive animal studies conducted at the Mendon Research Center. This research lab investment is another example of ADM's ongoing commitment to the animal feed industry and ADM Animal Nutrition.
