Alliance Animal Health
What products are considered Alliance® Animal Health Products?
Why AAH is important to me and why it should be important to you!
When I think of Alliance Animal Health, I think of several groups of products that were put together because they are multi-species products that complement and round out what we have to offer. The #1 reason why I personally love AAH products is because I get to see on a daily basis how they open doors and solve problems! Find the Problem, Offer a Solution, Become the Resource! Such a great feeling, wouldn't you agree? We may not have their feed business today, but if we become that trusted resource on other products we are set up to capture their feed business in the future.

As everyone should know, recent structure changes have brought Tubs and Blocks, managed by Chris Hagedorn, back under Commercial Feed in the Beef Business area. With that change, Kim Boccardi will no longer be helping support tubs and blocks. Additionally, with the recent introduction and marketing of Sweet Unique TM, Jennifer Scott will be focusing full-time on Sweet Unique, Alliance Animal Health and dairy milk replacers. To fill the hole in the beef products support area, Kent Egbert will take over many of those responsibilities. I am very excited about having Kent working more closely with the Beef Business group, as he will be the single source contact for everything beef. Please welcome Kent to this new role and give him a call or email with any of your beef-related questions.
UPDATE! Act Early and Grow Tub Promotion
The Act Early and Grow Program has been updated with extended order dates and discount. The discount promotion encourages customers to take ownership of product and the sales incentive rewards ANI representatives for increased activity. The program runs now through December 29, 2013, with ship confirm by January 5, 2014.
AminoGain® Challenge Program
Click for details for the AminoGain Challenge, designed to eliminate hesitation in trying a new program by removing a portion of the risk. All Challenge programs require approval by the GM and Gerald Walker, AminoGain Product Manager.

Commercial Swine
We continue to hear great reports from the field relative to the new MotivAteTM Starter program. Consistent comments include great feed intakes, fewer fall back pigs and heavier pigs out of the nursery. We'll be sharing close-out information as we receive them to put some numbers around these comments moving forward. In the meantime, don't miss out on a great opportunity to share new products/technologies with key prospects. For a quick refresher, take a moment to review the program, MotivAte Presentation, and be one of the leaders in your area.
PEDV (Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus) continues to have a negative impact on our industry. As of August 25, 2013, there have been 528 confirmed cases in 17 states. When visiting with a consulting veterinarian recently, we talked about some of the basic biosecurity procedures effective in helping control this disease. I'd encourage all of our sales professionals to review the Technical Edge, Biosecurity: A Four-Part Action Plan for Swine Operations, and share with the producers you work with.

Rack Plus® Wildlife Tub (81597AAA6G) Discontinued/Replaced
In the on-going review of existing products for opportunity to remove duplication and overlap of application, two similar Hunter/Sportsman wildlife products were considered for consolidation to a single product offering:
- 81597AAA6G Rack Plus Wildlife Tub
- 81554AAA6G High CaliberTM Deeration
When the current 81597AAA6G inventory in Quincy is depleted, no further product will be produced for floor stock. The High Caliber Deeration tub will be floor stocked and recommended as the replacement. The 100 lb High Caliber tub provides equality in form size, ingredient composition, nutrition and palatability at a more favorable price point for our dealers, allowing them more retail pricing flexibility. Please note the High Caliber tub package is light tan vs. the black Rack Plus tub.
Contact Jim Sours with your questions and thank you in advance for your cooperation in making this transition.
Understanding Minor Species SOP-26
The recording of the SOP-26 Medicated Feeds for Minor Species training webinar on 9/16/13 is posted on the Specialty Feed portal page for those who were unable to join the webinar or who want to review this important information.
Also, an additional reference is provided by Marty Smith, Regulatory Compliance Manager. As a follow up and aid to all ANI colleagues in the understanding of the FDA Compliance Policy Guide and SOP-26, the Extra-label use letter explains the background of the guide, the responsibilities of ANI colleagues in providing medicated products to minor species, and a list of products that have been reviewed as appropriate for minor species by our nutritionists.
The SOP-26 and 26A are located on the portal under the QA and Regulatory Compliance tab. Please do not hesitate to contact Martha Smith with any questions or comments.
