Come in for School Sports Physicals!
| Fall sports are just around the corner, and in Florida, that means sports physicals! Although it may not be top-priority on your "to-do" list, getting a physical exam for your child's sport is very important. We offer sports physicals for just $25, grades K-12, at any of our Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, and Sarasota Urgent Care Walk-In Clinics.
Here's what to expect:
The two main parts of sports physicals are the Medical History and the Physical Exam. While the physical exam is very important, it's also good to be prepared for the Medical History portion as well. In fact, most physicians will tell you that learning your medical history is just as important, if not more so, than the physical part of the exam. To help you be better prepared, here are some examples of questions that you may be asked:
- Have you ever passed out during or after exercise?
- Have you ever been dizzy during or after exercise?
- Have you ever had chest pain during or after exercise?
- Do you get tired more quickly than your friends do during exercise?
- Have you ever had racing of your heart or skipped heartbeats?
- Have you had high blood pressure or high cholesterol?
- Have you ever been told you have a heart murmur?
- Has any family member or relative died of heart problems or sudden death before age 50?
So bring your child into any of our three locations. We are open 7 Days a Week, from 8am to 8pm. There is no appointment necessary, just walk in!
For any questions, contact Kathleen Cucci at 941-907-2800.

| Community Spotlight | Manatee Children's Services
"Manatee Children's Services (MCS) was founded in 1977 by a group of concerned Manatee County residents who identified an unmet community need, temporary housing for children who had been removed from unsafe homes. Since 1977, the organization has grown to 12 different programs and continues to provide the entire Suncoast Region with essential services to improve the quality of life for children in need."
How you can help:
- Donate Goods: Manatee Children's Services accepts donations of products or tangible goods from individuals and businesses. These items are used to assist in the fulfillment of their programs. Each program maintains a wish list of items desired of their objectives. Click here to view their current wish list..
-Make a Tax Deductible Donation: Donations are one of the most important means of support available. Without donations from generous people and organizations, Manatee Children's Services would not be able to help so many children in need. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law, and you can make donations by mail, or online with a secure PayPal account. Click here to donate!
-Volunteer: If you have been wondering how you can help in the fight against child abuse, then wonder no more! Become an MCS volunteer! Simply print out a Volunteer Application or call us and we'll send one to you. Mail completed applications to: MCS Volunteer Office, 453 Cortez Road West, Bradenton, Florida 34207.
