Today's Gospel is a stark lesson about greed that we in our society wrap up in the brightly-colored paper of consumerism.

In contrast to "the rich man" in the Gospel, who seemed stuck in holding tight to all the things he had accumulated, you might wish to reflect on these lyrics from the musical 'Rent.' The song is titled "Seasons of Love."

Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes,
Five hundred twenty-five thousand moments so dear.
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes.
How do you measure, measure a year?

In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights,
In cups of coffee.
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.
In five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes.
How do you measure
A year in the life?

How about love? Measure in love.
Oh you got to got to remember the love!
You know that love is a gift from up above
Share love, give love spread love
Measure your life in love.

It's summer. Make sure you are takin' it easy!
