conditCommittee Chairs Needed

COMMITTEE CHAIRS NEEDED 2015-2016

Bellaire Fun Run
Are you passionate about running? Would you like to promote healthy exercise in our school? This is an easy, low commitment position. The Fun Run is a local short run that takes place in the Fall. The committee head would need to promote the run via CH recruit 4 volunteers to help the morning of race. Time commitment is mostly the day of the race. 1 chairperson needed.

No Place for Hate
This is a national campaign that Condit has participated in for many years. This is a low commitment committee that 1-2 chairpersons could easily manage. Chairperson needed ASAP, paperwork need submit by Oct. 15th.

Name That Book
Student teams read and study books to compete against area schools in reading comprehension. Parent volunteer coaches work with the students to secure the team and prepare for the competition. Condit typically has two teams: one for grades Kindergarten-2nd, and one for grades 3rd through 5th.
2-3 volunteers needed for each team.

Science Fair
The Condit Science Fair is a one-time event usually held in the beginning of May during the school day. It offers students a great opportunity for hands-on science learning.
Students in Grades 3 - 5 are required to submit projects, although students in all grade levels are encouraged to participate.
During the event parent volunteers will judge the projects and winners are announced the following morning. As a volunteer, no science experience is necessary, and all guidelines and instructions will be given to the volunteers by the chairperson the morning of the Fair. 2-3 Chairpersons needed. (the committee from last year will provide LOTS of support)

condit | Science Box - Early Call for Volunteers
We have a new Science/Technology/Engineering/Math program that will take science and math education at Condit to a new level by creating great "Aha!" moments with hands-on learning. As a result of the new program, we expect that many of our students will confidently elect exciting careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)...solving problems, thinking critically, and intelligently participating in society.

Condit Elementary has recently acquired Science Technical Engineering Math kits from ETA hand2mind, and we need parent volunteers to help us roll out this exciting new program!

We are making an early call for volunteers as we would like to introduce parents and teachers to the new STEM program before school commences in August.  We will provide training to parents volunteers along with teachers on August 11th from 2-3:30pm. We will also discuss how we plan to launch the program in its inaugural 2015-2016 year at Condit.

If you would like to support the program by providing assistance in your child's classroom and/or grade, or would like to discuss further, please contact Peggy Chang
