Aloha HE'E Members and Participants,

HE'E Meetings

HE'E Planning Meeting: CHANGE IN DATE AND TIME. Wednesday, November 19, 2014, 4:00-6:00pm at The Learning Coalition, 841 Bishop Street, Suite 301. (Validated Parking at Ali'i Place, 1099 Alakea Street) (Please note that it is not the 2nd Tuesday morning as normally scheduled)

HE'E is pleased to welcome back members of the Education Institute of Hawaii to report on the delegation's trip to Canada and the mainland. With a special grant from the Takitani Foundation, the Education Institute of Hawaii sent a delegation of 27 people to visit school systems in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Edmonton during Hawaii's intersession, Oct. 6-10, 2014. The delegation included school board members, state-office administrators, complex-area administrators, principals, teachers, parent advocates, union representatives, and members of the Institute's board. The purpose of the trip was to learn about other public school systems that have changed or tried to change their organizational structures. Now that the members of the delegation are home, they are ready to share their thoughts with their peers and others, including the community. For more information on the Education Institute of Hawaii's trip and delegation members, please click here.

Please join us for this exciting follow up discussion!  In order to accommodate some our teacher members, the meeting day and time were changed to Wednesday, November 19 from 4:00-6:00pm.  Please RSVP at cheri@heecoalition.org. Capacity is limited so please  RSVP as soon as possible!
