HE'E Vote on Family-School Partnership Work
Thank you members for sending in your vote on the Family-School Partnership Initiative. Over 75% of our voting members approved the documents so we will be sending the Cover Letter and Actions to the DOE shortly. We will be convening meetings to continue the work--we appreciate your continued hard work and support!

HE'E Planning Meeting: Tuesday August 6, 2013, from 9-11am at The Learning Coalition
HE'E will have its next Planning Meeting on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at The Learning Coalition at 841 Bishop Street, #301 (validated parking at Ali'i Place). We will give an update on the Family-School Partnership Initiative and the Strive HI Performance System (ESEA Waiver implementation). We would also like to hear from members on their 2013-14 projects, activities, events, etc. If you are not able to make the meeting, please send a paragraph on your activities so we can share with the group. Thank you to those who have sent comments about the new HIDOE website, which was recently launched: http://www.hawaiipublicschools.org/Pages/home.aspx. We are still taking comments so please send us your thoughts. We will consolidate and send the feedback to the DOE from the Coalition. The website was designed for the parents and community members so let's help them get it right! Please send comments to cheri@heecoalition.org.

DOE Windward District is hosting "Footsteps to Transition Fair for 2013." It is an event for middle and high school students with special needs to assist in making a successful transition to adult life and independence. For details please see flyer here.
