Aloha HE'E Members and Participants,
Legislative and Policy News
Please see HE'E's legislative update as of April 5, 2013. Please also see Allen Awaya's (from Senator Tokuda's office) most recent legislative update and hearing update.
This week, there will be Senate Education Committee hearings on Gubernatorial nominations for the Early Learning Advisory Council and for the Board of Education. HE'E is submitting testimony in support for GM749, Kerrie Urosevich, for the Early Learning Advisory Board and for GM779, Brian De Lima, for the Board of Education. As we explained in last week's email, we will be submitting tesimony for Ms. Urosevich which is the same content as the Letter of Support we wrote earlier last year. Please see testimony for GM749 here. The hearing for GM749 is scheduled for Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 1:15pm in Conference Room 414. For Mr. De Lima, HE'E gave testimony in support for all appointed Board of Education Members in 2011. We are extending our support to Mr. De Lima as he is being re-nominated for another term. Please see testimony for GM 779 here. The hearing for GM779 is on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 1:15pm in Conference Room 414.
Please let me know if you have comments on any of our legislative actions at cheri@heecoalition.org. We encourage you to come to the hearings to participate in the process!
HE'E Satisfaction Survey
We have prepared a satisfaction survey for our members and participants. Thank you to those who have participated! Please see link to survey here. The purpose of the survey is to get some feedback from members regarding Coalition activities, administration, policy and procedures. It gives you an opportunity to let us know how we are doing. It should take less than ten minutes of your time. Please provide comments - your input is invaluable to us!
