HE'E Meetings

Please join us for HE'E's Planning Meeting on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 from 9:00-11:00am at The Learning Coalition, 841 Bishop Street #301, validated parking at Ali'i Place at 1099 Alakea Street. Please RSVP at cheri@heecoalition.org.   

 

We will have an update on HE'E supported legislative and BOE policy to date, including a discussion on recommending a change to 2/3 majority vote requirement on changing bell schedules, as well as seek feedback on additional bills recommended by staff and outside groups such as Hawaii International Dyslexia Association (HIDA) and Hawaii Work to the Rules. 

 

At the end of the meeting, we will have a visit from Honolulu Magazine's Victoria Wiseman, who is writing an article about School Safety, seeking input from parents and the community. Please see Ms. Wiseman's questions herePlease join us for this great discussion opportunity!

Ceeds of Peace Workshop, 3:00-5:00pm Workshop, 5:00pm-6:00pm Reception, Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Catholic Charities Community Hall, 1822 Ke'eaumoku St.  
Montessori Community School invites you to a special presentation of Ceeds of Peace.
Ceeds of Peace has been developed by Dr. Kerrie Urosevich and Dr. Maya Soetoro-Ng, in partnership with the University of Hawai'i College of Education, Family Hui, the Association for Conflict Resolution Hawai'i Chapter and the Hawai'i State Department of Education Peaceful Schools Initiative.  Ceeds of Peace workshops bring together teachers, families and community members to gain skills in supporting children and youth to be peacebuilding leaders in their communities. Peacebuilders possess the critical "c"s of peacebuilding such as, Complex problem solving, Critical thinking, Compassion, Creativity, Collaborative leadership and Courage. There is no charge to attend.
