Aloha HE'E Members and Participants:
We would like to update you on announcements and exciting member news!
1. School Quality Survey Seeks Feedback from Parents!
The Hawaii State Department of Education is encouraging parents to complete a survey to help schools set priorities for improving programs and services. Please see DOE's Press Release and Copy of Public Service Announcement. HE'E was instrumental in helping revise this year's survey to make it more relevant and clear and we are thrilled that the Department is making a push to publicize the survey and obtain needed feedback from parents and families.
Please spread the word to parents and families in your organization! Completing the survey is so important because:
- Parents' voice is important because only you and your child know how well the teacher communicates with you.
- Only you and your child know if your child's homework helps him/her learn, if your child gets help from counselors when he/she needs it, and if your child feels safe from bullying at school.
- How can teachers improve their instruction if they don't have the vital information that only you and your child possess?
- How can principals improve your school if they don't have the information that only you possess?
We want to see parent participation rates improve so please help us get the message out!
