Aloha HE'E Members and Participants:
We would like to update you with HE'E meetings and member news.
1. HE'E's Policy Team will be meeting on Tuesday January 24 at The Learning Coalition Office from 4-6pm to further the discussion on legislative issues. Validated Parking at Ali'i Place. Please join us if you are interested in getting involved in advocating for education policy!
2. HE'E's Large Group meeting will be on Thursday January 26 at the Ala Moana Hotel. Girl Scouts Hawaii, a new HE'E member, has kindly offered a meeting space which is on the lobby level of the hotel near at the Kona Tower, across from the Girl Scouts retail shop. Free parking at Ala Moana Center. Please join us to meet Diane Tanbangay of the YMCA and Ryan Shigetani of Hawaii 3Rs! We will also be discussing the update of HE'E's strategic plan. Please bring comments/ ideas/ suggests to help move HE'E's strategic planning process forward.
3. Please save the date for the upcoming Castle Complex Town Hall meeting entitled "Great Teachers, Strong Schools, a Thriving 96744 Community" on Wednesday February 29 from 5:30-8:30pm at Hale Akoakoa, Windward Community College. HE'E members Castle Complex Community Council in partnership with HSTA will screen the film The American Teacher and engage in discussion about what defines good teaching and how we might work together to ensure that we have strong teachers and great schools.
