Dear HE'E Members and Participants,
Please see the below email from Terry Lock, the Governor's Early Childhood Coordinator. Thank you all again for your support!
Aloha,
Mahalo Nui Loa for your support in Hawaii's 2011 Race to the Top - Early Learning Challenge (RTT-ELC) application. The early care and education community has met this opportunity with aloha, enthusiasm and a commitment to enrich the early childhood experience for Hawaii's youngest keiki.
Through this process, and the countless hours of many dedicated volunteers, Hawaii now has an ambitious plan for a statewide comprehensive and aligned system that focuses on high quality early learning and development programs for children, prenatal to age five. Our community is prepared to implement this plan that prepares our young children to enter kindergarten ready to learn and succeed, regardless of the application outcome. We will continue to find alternate and supplemental funding opportunities in order to implement this plan for Hawaii's most precious assets.
Your letter of support was included in our application, to provide evidence of the strong community support and the many emergent partnerships that are developing. I hope to personally meet with you in the very near future to provide you details of the plan and I look forward to keeping you apprised of the progress of our implementation.
Once again, on behalf of the Governor and the hearts of our keiki, I share our deepest appreciation for your continued support of our state's 2011 Race to the Top - Early Learning Challenge application.
Me ke Aloha,
Terry Lock
