Dear HE'E Members and Participants,
Hawaii Board of Education has posted meeting notices for Tuesday August 16, 2011. All meetings are held at the Queen Liliuokalani Building, 1390 Miller Street, Room 404.
At 8:30, there is a Joint Committee Informational Briefing with the Human Resource Committee and the Student Achievement Committee. There will be a presentation/discussion on teacher evaluations and career development. Click here for agenda.
At 9:30, there is a Student Achievement Committee meeting. There will be a status report on the implementation of the Department of Education's strategic plan, presentation on common core standards and an update/discussion on Board Policy 4540, "High School Graduation and Diploma Policy." We encourage all HE'E members and in particular, the HE'E policy team to attend this meeting, as the update about the Department's strategic plan will be very useful.
At 11:30, there is an Audit Committee meeting. One of the items is a presentation/discussion on the School Quality Survey process. Therefore, we encourage our School Leadership team to attend to hear this discussion. Click here for agenda.
At 1:30 there will be a General Business Meeting. From 1:30 to 2:15 is Executive Session closed to the public but the meeting will reconvene to the public at 2:15. Click here for agenda.
We encourage all HE'E members to attend some or all the meetings and as always, encourage input to the Board from your respective organizations.
