4th Annual Nourish Event Celebrates  the Unique Culture of the Philippines

On Saturday, October 25th more than 60 guests gathered at the Posner Center for our 4th Annual Nourish Event. Once again the event was highlighted by delicious homemade Filipino Cuisine prepared by Guest Chef, Heidi Peterson, and Johnson and Wales University student, Mo Montgomery. Brunch was this years culinary theme and no brunch is complete without delicious coffee to compliment the food. We were honored to have local Denver coffee shop Huckleberry Roasters pour their delicious brew, and also serve samples of ENCA Farm's hand roasted arabica coffee, providing guests a taste of ENCA Farm.

We were pleased to have The Philippine American Society of Colorado dance troupe perform cultural dances from the Cordillera Region, which ENCA Farm is located in the heart of. Event guests enjoyed learning about this unique culture through these engaging dances.

With more guests than ever before, a talented crew of event volunteers, and the palpable energy and excitement in the room, our 4th Annual Nourish Event was a huge success. Funds raised during the event will go directly to ENCA Farm to support infrastructure improvements and access farm inputs including organic seeds and enhanced equipment.

These programs would not be possible without supporters like you. Thank you for your continued generosity!

Friends of ENCA Farm wins Collaboration Award with Nokero

We were honored to be one of three winners of the Posner Center for International Development collaboration competition in October. We were selected for our partnership with fellow tenant Nokero that brought solar light bulbs to the Northern Philippines.

See the video below that describes our collaboration on this exciting project! A huge thanks to the Posner Center for producing this video.

ENCA Farm Host Another Successful Field School for Manila Based Teens

Since 2010, students from the Laren Montesorri School in Manila have visited ENCA Farm as part of their field school curriculum. What started as two students has grown to ten that visited ENCA Farm for one week last month. These students leave the comforts of their city life in Manila to live and learn about organic farming and environmental conservation.

" I have been to ENCA Farm seven times and the biggest thing I learn is to be less selfish. In the city we don't take care of each other, but here at ENCA we have to prepare our own meals and participate in farm work, which helps us learn where our food comes from and the hard work it takes to produce it. ENCA Farm has helped me be more grateful and realize the bigger picture in all things."
- Gabby, 17 years old

ENCA Farm is proud to be a small and on-going part of these students' educational journey.
All of us at ENCA wish you a peaceful and happy holiday season, and a wonderful start to the New Year! Thank you for your continued generosity and support of our work in the Philippines.
