Greetings Friends,

This month we have some fun things in the works. For one day only, Tuesday May 14th, Three Scoops of Vanilla will be donating 25% of online sales to Homeward Bound. Erin's hand made jewelry is truly unique and can be customized with charms or your pet's name. She will even offer a special HBPR bracelet on the day of the fundraiser. We have taken in several pugs that need urgent medical attention and the bills are rising every day. For every bracelet purchased, the donation goes to care for a pug in need. We truly do appreciate your support.

Also, on Saturday, May 25th, we will be at Stars and Stripes Park, OKC, for Rub-A-Dub Race for Rescues. There will be a 5K run and and 1K fun run/walk (perfect for pugs), as well as food, children's games, a dog wash, pet food pantry, celebrity dunk tank and much more. We will have most of our adoptable pugs there and whether you are thinking of adopting or just want to play with pugs and meet other pugaholics, the Rub-A-Dub race for Rescue is the place to be. Only pre approved families will be able to adopt that day, so if you are interested please fill out an application here.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Happy Tails

ELMER: We began fostering Elmer, a senior pug, from Homeward Bound in November 2010. His profile stated that he had one of the worst cases of fleas and was underweight. One the way home, Elmer only slept. Eventually, we adopted Elmer outright, and he has transformed in the two plus years we have had him. Elmer likes to go for walks and runs at the dog park. He naps with his step-sister pug, Maggie, and likes to lay in the sunshine (Elmer is the one on the right). Elmer no longer needs a belly band. He has been such a wonderful dog and even an inspiration to others! A friend of the family recently rescued a 12-yr old collie. We couldn't imagine our life without our little guy! He continues to bring us happiness every day. Thanks for bringing Elmer into our life, and for all the good work you do. ~Rhonda Krueger
