2015 Highlights

2015 was a very special year for Pegasus Rising in several respects!

First and foremost, we are honored to report that, by the end of 2015, over 5,000 military based participants have now entered our paddocks and experienced our equine based therapeutic sessions. We are so proud that our special herd of Polish Arabians has been able to help so many combat veterans heal and reintegrate into their civilian and family lives.

Second, on August 26, 2015, Pegasus Rising celebrated its first anniversary at our new home at The Escondido Equestrian Center for Natural Horsemanship located in the Lake Wohlford Escondido area. Our most sincere and heartfelt thanks to our landlord, good friend and ardent supporter, Joan Layte, for her love and most generous spirit in providing our herd with a safe home!

Third, 2015 was an unusually busy year for our all volunteer non profit organizing not only our annual Estate Sale, but coordinating and participating in both the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club Holes for Heroes Golf Tournament as well as the Pumpkin Gala black tie fashion show fundraiser.

Finally, Pegasus is proud to announce that, starting in January 2016, we will begin providing our herd's therapeutic services to Wounded Warrior Battalion-West Camp Pendleton based Marines. This is a new and important addition to our existing relationships with the Veterans of Village of San Diego, San Marcos Veterans Center and Veterans Assistance of San Diego. It looks like a very busy year for our Polish Arabians so please take a moment, help our herd pay it forward in honor of our country's veterans, and DONATE to our all volunteer non profit so that we may heal and transition service members into their civilian and family lives.

$15,000 Donations Received from NRG Energy & Holes for Heroes
Pegasus Rising owes a most special thank you to the Downtown Rotary Breakfast Club Foundation and Holes for Heroes for including Pegasus Rising as one of its military related charitable beneficiaries at its September 18, 2015 golf tournament fundraiser at Lomas Santa Fe Country Club. Pegasus Rising received a $15,000 donation from this event and we are deeply grateful to the Downtown Rotrary Club and Holes for Heroes for their support and recognition of our mission to help our service members heal and reintegrate into their civilian and family lives. A special thank you to Dave Ferguson and Jonathan Stone who are the co-chairs of this wonderful event!

Pegasus Rising wishes to express our herd's most heartfelt gratitude for NRG Energy Inc.'s most recent September 2015 $15,000 donation toward our equine based therapeutic and vocational rehabilitation programs. We are lucky and grateful to have had NRG's support on annual basis over the last 6 years' time and this donation is one of the single largest donations that we have ever received! A special thanks to Lori Ruiz who has helped make these most important donations happen!!
